Darden Restaurants has launched a nutrition app, a software tool integrated into its recipe process. The new tool allows Darden chefs to calculate the nutrition content of recipes during the development process. Darden’s brands include Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, and Eddie V’s.

Presence Health, the system formed by the merger of Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care Corporation, is asking for an A- rating from Standard & Poor’s, up from the BBB+ rating the two systems hold separately. The combined system, which has 12 hospitals and is the second-largest health care system in the Chicago area, has revenue of $1.3 billion. A higher credit rating would cut the interest that Presence would pay on new loans.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals has launched a sale of $2.25 billion to fund its purchase of dermatology products maker Medicis Pharmaceutical. The Canadian drugmaker is buying Medicis to strengthen its position in skin treatments and care.
