MARYSVILLE, Ohio, December 16, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Today, Honda released the latest associate profile in its popular What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series.  Alex McNeely, a process engineer at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (HMIN) in Greensburg, is featured because of his drive to “always be better.”

McNeely’s commitment to continuous improvement contributes to his success as a process engineer at HMIN, where he’s responsible for ergonomic procedures and installation methods for the interior zone of the vehicles. This same attitude makes him effective as a mentor at the Center for Leadership Development (CLD)—an organization whose mission is to empower minority youth in the areas of college and career.

McNeely began mentoring at CLD shortly after assuming his engineering role at Honda.   “Alex is unique in that he sent us an email selling himself … he said ‘I just want to get involved,’” CLD Program Coordinator Yalonda McTush said. “He came in from the beginning ready to help in any way he could.”

At CLD, McNeely works with students who participate in the Self-Discovery/Career-Exploration Project, helping to promote the values, skills, lifestyle choices and work ethic needed to achieve their goals.

Demonstrating the spirit that enabled him to realize his own goal of becoming an industrial engineer, McNeely strives to foster the same attitude and challenging spirit among the students he mentors. “Every single student I see is living proof of the power of dreams,” McNeely remarked.

The What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series focuses on Honda’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, a youthful spirit and respect for the individual—core tenets of Honda’s approach to business that work equally well in the community. In addition, the videos spotlight the diverse career opportunities that exist within Honda, while also showcasing inspiring ways these associates engage in their communities.

The What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda series will run on Honda’s YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/Honda.
