A picture is worth a thousand words.” If this statement is accurate, how many words is video worth? Video is quickly becoming the media consumption format of choice for consumers and business executives around the world. A recent study by comScore, shows that 100 million people watch a video on the internet each day. Even more impressive is research from Cisco that states by 2019, online video will be responsible for nearly 80 percent of global internet traffic, an increase from 66 percent in 2013. These figures speak to the fact that video is rapidly becoming the most valuable opportunity for businesses to engage their stakeholders.

The 2016 Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Film Festival, sponsored by Mary Kay, provides your company with a platform to share your CSR story with thousands of viewers.

2015 Film Festival Winner | Mary KayEntry in the Film Festival gives your company an opportunity to connect with internal and external stakeholders about key corporate citizenship efforts. Your entry will provide a call to action that can engage employees, customers, and partners in the festival voting process.

In addition to driving engagement among stakeholders, participation in this event will also increase visibility for your CSR program through a variety of different digital media and marketing channels. Participants of the 2015 Corporate Citizenship Film Festival were showcased through:

  • 180,000 website visits during a 60 day period
  • 2.3 million 3rd party media impressions
  • 41,000 voter submissions
  • Promotion within a targeted e-newsletter distributed to over 40,000 corporate citizenship professionals
  • Formal recognition of participation in front of 650 corporate citizenship professionals at the International Corporate Citizenship Conference
  • Hundreds of social media mentions and impressions via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn engaging with video content by watching, liking, re-tweeting & sharing

Important facts and dates for the 2016 Film Festival:

  • New Categories: In order to recognize as many of your great programs as possible, we are adding new categories for 2016. Prize categories will be
    • Company Size
      • Small company (employee size 1- 5,000)
      • Medium company (employee size 5,000 - 30,000)
      • Large company (employee size 30,000 +)

    • Best in show
    • Fan favorite

  • Submission period: We will accept video uploads from December 10, 2015 to January 15, 2016. Only one video submission is permitted for each participating company. We will accept submissions from both Center members and non-members. Please note: Subsidiaries are considered their own entity.
  • Public voting: Voting will take place on the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship website from January 25 – February 15, 2016, determining the top three videos for the company size category. Each voter gets a vote in each category. Anyone can vote!
  • Selection of winner: The top three videos based on popular vote for each Company Size will then be reviewed by an industry panel to determine Company Size and Best in Class Winners. The Fan Favorite will be chosen based on overall voting numbers. All winners will be announced and honored in a formal ceremony at the 2016 International Corporate Citizenship Conference, held March 20-22 in Atlanta.
