Campaign: No More Poverty

(3BL Media) Los Angeles, CA - July 12, 2012 - Incite and No More Poverty have teamed up to create an initiative that will benefit multiple nonprofits by providing much needed funds and media exposure to showcase the difference each organization is making in Los Angeles and internationally.  The first nonprofit to be selected is Mariners Church. No More Poverty announced that they will donate $1,000 to Mariners Church Haiti Outreach to help support the continued construction of an orphanage and school in Haiti. The country remains devastated after an earthquake caused over 1.6 million people to lose their homes in 2010.

Mariners Church holds a Vacation Bible School program every summer which hosts approximately 2,000 kids from kindergarten through 5th grade. Every year VBS has a unique theme and offers engaging and important learning experiences. This year, the children of VBS at Mariners Church, along with No More Poverty, are focusing on raising money to rebuild Haiti.

“We are excited and pleased to be helping with this Haiti Outreach Mission,” said No More Poverty co-founder Julian Omidi. “It’s critical that we get behind a cause that can potentially touch so many people. Children in Haiti are suffering, and this school will give them one more place they can go to feel safe and comfortable.”

Last year, Mariners Church Children’s Ministry raised $25,000 to build a much-needed orphanage in Haiti and this year their goal is to build a school.  “We have decided to raise additional support this year for Haiti in order to help that vision progress. We couldn’t be happier that No More Poverty has chosen to support us in this effort,” said Allison Morris of Mariners Church.

The next highlighted nonprofit will be announced on Monday, July 16, 2012.
