Dr. Yosie is being recognized for his achievements in environmental protection and advancing sustainable development. “Terry Yosie was exemplary in the classroom while enrolled at IUP, and he has applied both focus and discipline throughout his remarkable career,” stated Professor Emeritus Charles D. Cashdollar, who nominated Dr. Yosie for the Award. “He has extended his curiosity and dedication to the discipline of history across many path breaking accomplishments in government, the private sector and a global non-profit organization. He is a most deserving recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, and we in the Department of History are very proud to have one of our own receive such recognition.”

Prior to enrolling at IUP in 1974, Dr. Yosie graduated from the Blacklick Valley Junior-Senior High School in Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania in Cambria County in 1970. “My entire adulthood and professional career have been shaped by the foundation in both learning and life provided by Indiana University of Pennsylvania,” stated Dr. Yosie. “I am enormously grateful for this Award that represents a great source of pride for my family.”
