DAVIDSON, N.C., June 12, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Michael W. Lamach, chairman and CEO of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, joined more than 150 of America’s leading CEOs in a pledge to cultivate diversity and inclusion in the workplace through the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™.

The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ is led by a steering committee of CEOs and leaders from Accenture, BCG, Deloitte US, The Executive Leadership Council, EY, General Atlantic, KPMG, New York Life, Procter & Gamble, and PwC. The coalition represents more than 50 industries, all 50 US States, and millions of employees globally. It brings together more than 150 CEOs to raise awareness of increasing diversity and fostering inclusion, and to grow an understanding that diversity has the power to improve corporate performance, drive growth and enhance employee engagement.

“Ingersoll Rand has been relentless in integrating diversity and inclusion into the fabric of our culture. We’ve made great strides in improving our diversity and inclusion efforts, and we’re excited to further strengthen these efforts through this commitment,” Lamach said. “We can advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace faster by organizations learning from each other. Together, with our peers in the business community, we have the collective power to make lasting positive change on these pervasive issues.”

The company has long been committed to building a progressive, diverse and inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds are treated with respect, and currently offers resources designed to engage and support a workplace welcoming different points of view, and where employees feel empowered to discuss tough issues at work.

Ingersoll Rand’s pledge to the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ is a natural extension of the company’s longstanding commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Diversity and inclusion are embedded throughout the company’s practices – from business strategy to talent and organizational practices to its 2020 Sustainability Goals including clear targets to foster an inclusive and diverse workplace. The company’s Sustainability Goals also align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for reduced inequalities and gender equality. Earlier this year Ingersoll Rand joined dozens of companies in the Paradigm for Paritysm coalition to bring gender parity to its corporate leadership structure by 2030.
