DAVIDSON, N.C., August 4, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Gene Hahnenberg, director of indirect sourcing and procurement operations for Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, will join other supply chain experts at the 2015 Corporate Sustainability Management Conference in Minneapolis. Hahnenberg is scheduled to speak on August 5, the second day of the conference.

Joined by representatives from Owens Corning Corp and the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), Hahnenberg will speak to the ways in which Ingersoll Rand engages the supply chain to make gains on common sustainability objectives.

“Ingersoll Rand implements sustainable practices holistically, that is, we not only focus on the sustainability of finished products, but also the sustainability of individual materials and that of vendors,” Hahnenberg said. “Creating and nurturing relationships plays a vital role in progressing our sustainability initiatives and will continue to pay dividends as we further our progress on our Climate Commitment.”

The conference is designed to educate professions on how to further integrate sustainability into business operations from fellow corporate EHS and sustainability leaders. Through a mix of peer-led case studies and benchmarking dialogues, the National Association for Environmental Management’s (NAEM) annual sustainability conference is a unique opportunity to gain actionable insights that can be used to immediately improve performance, identify business opportunities and set better sustainability goals.

In September 2014, Ingersoll Rand made public its climate commitment to achieve a 50 percent reduction in greenhouse gas refrigerant footprint of our products by 2020, and incorporating alternatives with lower global warming potential across the company’s product portfolio by 2030; make a $500M investment in product-related research and development over the next five years to fund the long-term reduction of GHG emissions; and a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas footprint of our own operations by 2020.
