NEW YORK, July 11, 2016 /3BL Media/ – JPMorgan Chase & Co. has been recognized by the Euromoney Awards for Excellence as the “World’s Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility.” The annual award was given to the firm “for its commitment and innovative approach to facilitating solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.”

In a highly competitive category, JPMorgan Chase stood apart from other financial service companies for its focus on addressing economic opportunity through several initiatives, including its $100 commitment to Detroit, the creation of the JPMorgan Chase Institute, founding partnership of the Financial Solutions Lab and its support of the Catalyst Fund and Global Health Investment Fund with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. These efforts, combined with global efforts focused on addressing skills development in the U.S., South Africa, France, India and elsewhere around the world, contributed to the win.

“Over the next five years, we will invest $1 billion to expand economic opportunity in cities around the world,” said Peter Scher, Head of Corporate Responsibility, JPMorgan Chase. “Unlike traditional models of corporate philanthropy, we continue to rely on robust data, our expertise and our partnerships to target investments towards solutions that can make a real impact. We are grateful for Euromoney’s recognition of our work; it reaffirms that our approach is breaking through and helping create resilient and thriving communities.”

Euromoney also cited the firm’s leadership in underwriting Green Bonds and its founding sponsorship of NatureVest, the impact investing unit at The Nature Conservancy created to accelerate private investment.

According to Euromoney, “Not only does JPMorgan Chase invest its own philanthropic dollars more broadly across the world than any other bank, it also puts its financial expertise to work to help solve global social and environmental issues.”

The World’s Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility award is one of 25 global awards Euromoney presents to firms in banking and capital markets around the world, recognizing institutions and individuals that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and momentum in their markets.
