Kraft Foods has announced the company’s progress on reducing manufacturing waste. Programs have reduced byproducts by 50 percent since 2005; 36 facilities in 13 countries, including 24 plants in Europe and 12 facilities in North America, now send zero waste to landfills; and the company recycles or reuses 90 percent of waste as sources of new energy. The company defines its waste reduction philosophy as “waging war on waste, one plant at a time.”

Sanofi U.S., a healthcare provider, joined with several other companies in the Corporate Supplier Diversity Mentoring Initiative. The program, developed with the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners, was designed to advance the development of women-owned businesses and introduce companies to women entrepreneurs. Each participating company hosted a mentoring session at which women business owners received training in and information about supply-chain related topics. Sanofi hosted a program wrap-up meeting at its headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
