Today’s student might be tomorrow’s scientist or engineer, and as a biopharmaceutical company, we are passionate advocates for education.

The Lilly Foundation recently made a $1 million grant to Teach Plus, a national non-profit that puts teacher leaders at the center of school and system-level reform in a program called the Turnaround Teacher Teams Initiative, or T3 Initiative. By taking a critical mass of experienced, effective teachers in low-performing schools and empowering them to take on leadership roles, the T3 Initiative aims to accelerate improvements school-wide.

Through the four-year foundation grant, three Indianapolis Public Schools, and 24 educators, will join the T3 Initiative, which also includes schools in Boston and Washington, D.C.
