As a sponsor, Diversey Care, a Division of Sealed Air, recently participated in the first annual Green Clean Schools Leadership Summit, organized by the Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC). The University of Washington welcomed an enthusiastic group of facility managers, green cleaning leaders, manufacturers and distributors eager to improve the learning and working environments of students and staff.

The event provided an opportunity for passionate individuals and organizations to join forces and discuss the advancement of cleaning. The summit’s objective was to better the learning environments of students and staff by embracing healthier green cleaning standards as requirements.

Some highlights from the three-day summit include:

  • Experts inspired attendees with ideas for improving infection prevention in order to create cleaner and safer environments. Stopping the spread of infectious diseases in indoor environments means fewer absences for students and staff.
  • The University of Washington campus tour demonstrated multiple aspects of their integrated green cleaning program. The TASKI Nano Mobile Work Station was featured as an integral part of the cleaning program throughout campus buildings. Multiple configurations allow employees to clean more ergonomically and efficiently.
  • Information shared from customers and HSC members will continue to push Diversey Care to create and innovate healthy and green cleaning tools, products and processes. Members affirmed that sustainability certifications such as Ecologo and GREENGUARD Gold are important when making product decisions. As a result, Diversey Care will continue to gain third-party certifications for more and new products.

A successful green cleaning program benefits both the bottom line and the community, keeping learning environments looking their best and promoting the ongoing health of students and staff.
