October 14, 2013 /3BL Media/ - The conference aimed to bring together global thought leaders to discuss what producing food more sustainably means, to challenge each other regarding the obstacles to be overcome and share unique insights on what the future holds.

Daniel explained how Mars is a principles-led business using its Five Principles; Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom.  These Principles are the foundation of the Mars culture and its approach to business.

He said “In order for our business to be successful, we need to ensure the success of all stakeholders across our supply chain. That is pretty exciting idea and mandate when it comes to sustainability.”

On the topic of Cause Related Marketing Daniel explained that “every day we communicate and engage with hundreds of millions of consumers around the world – and we are inspired by the possibility of engaging them in supporting good causes that make a difference.”

Also speaking at the event were Mr. Simon Coveney, TD, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Global representatives from the World Bank and the WWF and other global retailers including McDonald’s, Pepsico, Nestle and Kerry.
