What is your session about?

This session focuses on helping employee volunteer managers use job purposing. Job purposing is the management tool of incorporating the opportunity to do societal good into everyday jobs in order to enliven and expand employee volunteering.

Why should attendees care about this topic?

Imagine a massive investment of thoughtful, often skilled, human capital in alleviating hunger, preserving the environment, stopping violence and otherwise overcoming societal issues that it detectably improves our global society.

Help create this reality by leveraging job purposing in your employee volunteer program. Get managers across your company – in sales, grounds keeping, R&D and elsewhere – happily doing the work of your employee volunteer program. You can, essentially, multiply your staff hundreds of times over!

What is a professional achievement you are particularly proud of?

Witnessing any corporate manager who previously had little to do with employee volunteering incorporate social good activities into jobs, or job purpose, is among the most rewarding parts of my work. It’s wonderful to see the pride and enthusiasm purposed jobs gives teams. And it’s uplifting to know that widespread adoption of this management practice would transform the business sector into the formidable force for good we have long envisioned.
