Northern Trust has maintained its inclusion in the FTSE4GOOD Index for the eleventh consecutive year. The FTSE4Good Index Series measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. The three pillars - environmental, social and governance - span across fourteen themes, including environmental management, mitigating climate change, human rights and community, supply chain labor standards and corporate governance.

FTSE4GOOD criteria is developed using an extensive market consultation process and approved by an independent committee of experts. A broad range of stakeholders help shape the criteria, including NGOs, governmental bodies, consultants, academics, the investment community and the corporate sector. To remain consistent with market expectations and developments in ESG practice, the inclusion criteria are revised regularly.
