The International Trachoma Initiative is a partnership co-founded by Pfizer in 1998 with the goal of eliminating trachoma, the world’s leading cause of preventable blindness. As of this year, Pfizer, working as part of ITI, has distributed 500 million doses of an antibiotic used to treat the disease, and the Initiative has treated more than 100 million people suffering from trachoma.
