MINNEAPOLIS, September 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US announced that its Minneapolis market donated a total of $90,000 to four Minneapolis-based non-profit organizations, funded through grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc. The grants complement the professional services firm's Earn Your Future campaign dedicated to addressing youth education with a combination of donations and skills-based volunteer programs across the United States. PwC Minneapolis employees have invested more than 6,400 hours to local charitable organizations this year.

The following local organizations will receive grant dollars:

  • Best Prep – A statewide non-profit organization dedicated to preparing students with business, career and financial literacy skills through hands-on education.
  • Playworks Minnesota – A non-profit organization committed to creating a safe playground facility for kids to explore their imaginations and grow physically emotionally and socially.
  • Camp Fire MN – A non-profit organization aimed at providing quality learning experiences for young people and their families through outdoor and community programs.
  • AchieveMpls – A non-profit organization aimed at preparing students academically by providing the resources, skills and social capital necessary to succeed after high school.

"PwC Minneapolis is proud to extend our support in developing quality learning and social experiences for our youth  through these grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation," said Tom Montminy, managing partner of PwC's Greater Minneapolis market. "The success of our kids today will determine the future success of our community, and through our Earn Your Future campaign, we are fully dedicated to promoting youth education and helping provide the right resources for developing our future leaders."

Since its inception in June 2012, Earn Your Future has sparked scaled change and increased engagement in every PwC market across the US firm. More than 27,000 active and retired partners and staff have given 425,000 hours of time to youth since the launch of the commitment. Cumulatively, our people have made a measurable impact on more than 1.1 million students and 41,000 educators by providing educational, financial and/or developmental resources. Additionally, PwC has donated $43 million to support youth related causes over the past two years.
