Republic Services Hosts Touch-A-Truck Event in Tampa

Republic Services was pleased to receive a positive shout out on social media from a valued customer in the Tampa, Florida area in early July. The message from the customer thanked the local Republic team in Tampa, who had arranged a Touch-A-Truck event for the customer’s daughter and a few of her friends. Word spread fast through the community that a Republic Services truck was coming for a visit and the event ended up having over 60 toddlers and their parents or guardians from the neighborhood and surrounding areas. One of the Republic team members presented on truck safety, summer safety and how one of the big blue trucks works. Then the children were able to climb in and sit in the cab of the truck and take photos.

Republic employees know that serving their 14 million customers goes beyond handling their recycling and waste needs. Whether they are volunteering or donating their time or resources, Republic employees’ willingness to give back to the communities where they live and work is yet another way they can make a difference.
