Run for the Children in Key Human Services’ Annual 5K, One Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run

Wethersfield, CT, June 18, 2014 /3BL Media/ — Key Human Services will hold its annual 5K Run, One Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run on September 6, 2014 at the scenic and dog friendly West Hartford Reservoir.

Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. The 5K starts at 9 a.m., immediately followed by the One Mile Walk. The Kids Fun Run starts at 8:45 a.m. and is open to children ages 12 years and younger.

The top three male and female 5K finishers will receive trophies. All children will receive an award for participating in the Kids Fun Run. Refreshments will be available for all participants.

The first 100 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. Until August 29, entry fees are $20 for the 5K Run and One Mile Walk and $5 for the Kids Fun Run. It costs $75 for teams of four or more in the 5K. Entry fees increase after August 29.

The 5K Run, One Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run benefits Key Human Services’ Birth to Three program, an early intervention program, by providing scholarship programs to assist families, as well as funds for purchasing adaptive equipment and other program supplies. Birth to Three provides direct services and supports to children who have a significant developmental delay so they can develop at a pace similar to their peers.
