TANNERSVILLE, Pa., December 17, 2015 /3BL Media/ – At today’s December 2015 United Way of Monroe County community meeting, representatives of Sanofi Pasteur announced the highest company campaign total to date to a packed room of United Way volunteers, staff, partner agencies, and other supporters of the United Way.

The campaign total included employee donations, along with the assistance of a company match from both Sanofi Pasteur and the Sanofi Foundation for North America. Eighty-three percent, or $279,820, will be credited toward the United Way of Monroe County’s annual campaign. Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of Sanofi, with comprehensive U.S. offices in Swiftwater, Pa., is the United Way’s largest single contributor for Monroe County.

As part of their internal campaign, the Sanofi Pasteur campaign leadership team developed a creative platform titled, “Small Acts of Kindness: Together We Can Make a BIG Change.” To complement this theme, some of the prizes awarded through raffles included a gift for the recipient, as well as a colleague, friend or loved one.  Additionally, at the campaign kick off employees engaged with representatives from the United Way and several of its partner agencies.

Key company volunteers for the campaign were: Dale Parisi, vice president, Human Resources, Commercial Operations, Vaccines, Americas, who is Sanofi Pasteur’s United Way campaign advisor and a board member of the United Way of Monroe County; Company Campaign Co-Chair Amy Besecker, deputy director, Marketing and Sales Planning & Analysis; Company Campaign Co-Chair Kristen Fitch, deputy director, Product Management; Company Campaign Vice Chair Don Zipp, manager HSE & Business Continuity; and Company Campaign Vice Chair Kurt Lupinsky, deputy director, R&D Project Management.

During her comments,  Fitch -- a Monroe County native -- revealed the campaign results, as well as the personal significance of the campaign. She also thanked key individuals responsible for its success, including Damian Braga, senior vice president, Global Commercial Operations, and the many employees who played an integral part in the community fundraising initiative.

“This year was my first experience witnessing the power and impact of the Sanofi Pasteur United Way campaign, and it did not disappoint, said Michael Albert, president and CEO of the United Way of Monroe County. “The energy, commitment, and passion that Sanofi Pasteur’s employees have for the United Way, their local communities, and for helping those in need is exemplary. Above and beyond that, it is truly inspiring to partner with one of the county’s largest employers on other meaningful efforts, such as holistic community wellness and local economic development.”

In addition to Sanofi Pasteur, several local companies and members of the community also announced their United Way campaign totals, including student groups represented by over a hundred children from Pocono Mountain and Pleasant Valley School Districts.
