The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is one of the world's largest and most impactful collective fundraising events to end cancer. Its mission is to unite communities across the globe and celebrate people who have battled cancer, remembered loved ones lost, and taken action to finish the fight once and for all.

A group of Sanofi Pasteur employees partook in this year’s Relay For Life event in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Employees were involved throughout the event in various ways, including donation efforts, volunteering at the 24-hour fundraising event, and walking in honor of those who have fought and are continuing to fight against cancer.

Sanofi Pasteur has been a long-time partner of the American Cancer Society (ACS), a nationwide non-profit health organization focused on eliminating cancer. Sanofi Pasteur, as well as its other affiliate companies of Sanofi, continues to support the ACS through corporate philanthropic support and the fundraising efforts of the CancerConnect Employee Resource Group, a Sanofi employee-led that offers support to those who have been affected by cancer.

Sanofi Pasteur’s goal for this year’s campaign was to raise $4,000 to donate to the American Cancer Society in East Stroudsburg. The team accomplished its mission and raised a total of $5,151. Many employees who provided donations and participated in the Relay for Life walk dedicated their efforts in memory of Dave Brown, co-founder of the Sanofi Pasteur CancerConnect Employee Resource Group who passed away last year, as well as colleagues and family members currently battling cancer.

“Cancer Connect is focused on helping Sanofi employees impacted by cancer, most often a devastating diagnosis,” said Christine Farner, Sanofi Pasteur employee and also co-founder of CancerConnect.  “Supporting ACS events and activities makes us certain that Cancer Connect is contributing to winning the fight!”
