It’s no secret in the world of automotive philanthropy that Subaru is among the most involved, especially as far as Mother Nature is concerned. Its giving arm extends to several pet and animal causes, as well as other environmental concerns. Two of its latest causes include its continued dedication to the National Parks, as well as work with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The National Park Service celebrates its centennial this year. Subaru has already done a fair amount to help celebrate the service’s 100th birthday, including sharing zero landfill knowledge with the parkspresenting the National Parks Adventure film that hit IMAX® theaters in February and sponsoring A Walk in the Park with David Vassar, and launching student activities for virtual field trips to our nation’s national parks. Subaru’s latest move has the automaker pairing with Chimani, an app creator, to design 59 mobile app travel guides, one for each of the US’s 59 iconic national parks.

The benefits of mobile app travel guides are many. First, it reduces paper waste on printed out guides. Second, it is more user-friendly and interactive for visitors to the park. Third, it is dynamic, offering real-time updates, something a paper guide cannot deliver.
