Support Susquehanna Service Dogs on #GivingTuesday

Nov 25, 2016 1:25 PM ET

November 29, 2016 is #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving. Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday! Susquehanna Service Dogs is working to raise $5,000 in one day on #GivingTuesday!

Veterinary costs are one of Susquehanna Service Dogs' biggest expenses. Did you know that it costs $100 for each dog's annual check-up at the vet? You can help SSD cover vet costs for 50 of our puppies in training by helping us reach our #GivingTuesday goal.

How else will your donation help?

  • $26 covers an eye exam for an 8-week-old puppy
  • $52 covers eye exams at both 9 weeks and one year
  • $90 covers hip X-rays for one puppy
  • $310 covers all vet appointments and vaccinations for one puppy's first year

Why should you give?

When we place a service dog with their partner, we’re confident that that dog will be able to perform the tasks it was trained to do to support that person. That’s why we regularly take our dogs to the vet and check each dog’s eyes, hips, and elbows. Each service dog must be physically healthy so they can assist their partner in their daily lives.

That’s why it’s so important for you to donate this #GivingTuesday. Your donation will help us ensure all our service dogs are healthy and capable of working. Ultimately, your donation is changing lives.
