On June 14, TWC’s community investment team, members of our LGBT employee affiliate group Out@TWC and nearly 200 employee volunteers marched through West Hollywood in the Los Angeles PRIDE Parade.

Equipped with rainbow umbrellas, flags, and an incredible amount of pride, TWC employees — joined by their friends and family — shared in the spirit and support of the parade’s 400,000 spectators. They saw firsthand the power of community, importance of diversity, and significance of equality. Watch highlights from the day HERE.

Because of their bold and authentic participation in the parade, our employees made lasting and impactful connections with the gay & lesbian community of Los Angeles.  Along the route, Angelinos took note of their cable-provider’s support and asked if they could take pictures, shake hands and high-five our employees.  Clearly, the enthusiasm and comradery of the afternoon was palpable.

As a company that connects people with their entertainment, their loved ones and the world – it only makes sense that Time Warner Cable would come out in such a profound and meaningful way to support the LGBT community, marching in the parade for the third time.  It’s no surprise that we were once again awarded a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s corporate equality index and continuously rank as one of the best places to work for LGBT Americans.

The Los Angeles Pride Parade benefits the Christopher Street West Association (CSW), a non-profit organization within the Greater Los Angeles area that is committed to human rights, education, outreach and better understanding within the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, as well as the broader community. CSW was formed in 1970, producing the first Pride Parade in the world celebrating the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion in New York City.
