Top Companies Communicate Sustainability to Consumers in Innovative Ways

A company’s communication with consumers on sustainability does not have to be confined to annual CSR reports alone. A growing number of companies are now using social media and other innovative platforms to disseminate information on sustainability and convince people why it matters. These companies stress upon sustainability values that people can easily connect with, and do it in subtle ways without alienating them with sustainability jargon.

The top companies on this year’s Social Media Sustainability Index include Coca-Cola, Intel, Unilever, McDonald’s and Philips. All these companies communicate on a variety of sustainability issues with consumers, for the most part, without making a single direct reference to the “S” word.
