CONTENT: Press Release

July 24, 2014, New York, NY /3BL Media/ — Twenty one of the world’s leading CEOs and companies joined CECP, a coalition of CEOs united in the belief that societal improvement is an essential measure of business performance, in the first half of 2014.

These CEOs and companies work directly with CECP to express their commitment to addressing societal issues and join forces with other companies carrying out similar community work, as they lead sustainable businesses. This new group of CEOs and companies represents a broad array of industries and includes five additional companies in the Fortune 100, bringing CECP’s list of Fortune 100 companies to 54.

Founded by Paul Newman and leading CEOs 15 years ago as a “force for good in society,” CECP convenes, tracks, and supports a group of 150 CEOs and their teams from the world’s largest companies, which committed $19 billion last year to solving pressing community challenges.

“We welcome these new CEOs and companies,” stated Daryl Brewster, CEO, CECP.  “They demonstrate that leading businesses are finding innovative solutions to business challenges through investments in the community.”

“Every day, Samsung helps people around the world discover new experiences and possibilities through technology,” said Gregory Lee, President and CEO, Samsung Electronics North America. “We believe in the important role that businesses have in serving as powerful corporate citizens in the communities in which they operate. We are pleased to join a coalition that is focused on ensuring that societal advancement and business operations move forward hand-in-hand.”

“To create sustainable change, corporations must pursue stronger connectivity, collaboration, and communication,” said Dinesh C. Paliwal, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of HARMAN. “CECP is an important conduit to stimulating dialogue, sharing best practices, and facilitating partnerships built for action and outcomes.
