The solution to the world’s biggest sustainability challenges of climate change, poverty, hunger and disease begins with global awareness, education and a strong analytical foundation. Delivering free online education and engaging with millions of students around the world through innovative online platforms may be one of the most cost-effective, practical and democratic ways to achieve this goal.

Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network, an organization comprised of hundreds of universities and think tanks created by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, is leveraging his position to deal with sustainable development through global online education.
