WASHINGTON, Aug. 20, 2014 /3BL Media/ — Chaz Miller, director of policy/advocacy with the National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA), will discuss American paper recycling at the 3rd annual China International Recycled Fiber Conference Sept. 24 in Shanghai.

Miller’s presentation, “Development of American Paper Recycling System and the Challenge It’s Facing,” was selected for the conference by the organizing group RISI, a leading information provider for the global forest products industry.

“Our vision is to be the most effective and respected voice on all things waste and recycling. Chaz Miller participating in this event brings us closer to attaining this vision,” said Sharon H. Kneiss, president and CEO of NW&RA.

Since its inception, the conference has become one of the most important platforms focusing on the recovered paper sector in China. This year, the conference will focus on waste paper market developments and will explore new trends in recovered paper recycling, utilization and demands from downstream. Expected to attend are top management and recovered paper procurement managers from paper companies, foreign recovered paper suppliers, domestic collectors, brand owners, financial institutes and consultants.

“We have a tremendous opportunity to bring a discussion about the state of paper recycling in the United States to international audiences, particularly the Chinese market, and to learn about post ‘Green Fence’ issues,” Miller said. “The chance to present at RISI’s conference is an honor for NW&RA and for the American waste and recycling industry.”

RISI, which consults with paper companies worldwide and publishes the industry newsletter “Pulp and Paper Week,” organizes the annual event with the support of China Resources Recycling Association and China Packaging Federation Paper Products Committee. The event will take place at the Intercontinental Shanghai PUXI Hotel from Tuesday, Sept. 23 to Wednesday, Sept. 24.
