USC Students First in State in Verizon App Competition

A six-student team from Upper St. Clair High School's Gifted program has won first place in Pennsylvania in Verizon's National App Challenge. The team's pitch of dissecting 3D models of everyday objects and technology virtually on a screen now moves on to compete amongst 89 other schools' ideas. Verizon will announce 24 regional winners on Jan. 16, with each team receiving $5,000 to help program and produce their phone applications.
