The summer heat does not stop our clients from making a difference. Whether an airline or a bank or a grocery store, they're on a mission with their CSR program to change the world. We have picked some of the highlights from their various giving programs to share with you- we hope their good work will inspire you in your quest for making an impact in your community!

JetBlue Helps Kids Soar
On July 21, more than 200 JetBlue crewmembers and community members including Mayor Marty Walsh braved the July heat to help build a brand-new playground with KaBoom! in Boston. Through JetBlue’s long-standing partnership with KaBOOM!, the airline and its crewmembers have helped to create safe and fun play spaces that help children get the active play they need to thrive. The new playground will benefit 4,000 kids in Boston. Previously this space was outdated and underutilized even though it is located in the heart of Hyde Park and adjacent to the community center and many other youth service agencies.

Cracker Barrel Feeds Families in Need
CB Old Country Store® partnered with Kroger Tuesday to feed Michigan families in need by donating $5,000 in free groceries to the Food Bank of South Central Michigan. The Food Bank of South Central Michigan is a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed hungry people and build a community that makes grocery products accessible to everyone. The food bank serves an eight county region through its Battle Creek, Mich. facility and agency network, and offers a variety of programs to help eliminate hunger. Nearly 190,000 people receive assistance from the food bank every year.

Safeway Donates Ice Cream for a Good Cause
About 4,000 people gathered at Civic Green Park for treats galore, food trucks and live entertainment at the annual Ice Cream Social hosted by the Highlands Ranch Metro District. For just $2, guests enjoyed unlimited ice cream donated by Safeway at the event. Every year, proceeds go to a non-profit organization. This year, the Metro District donated a record $4,496 to Project ReCycle, a Douglas County-based organization founded in 2010 by Highlands Ranch resident AJ Stapleton. Project ReCycle donates bicycles to children across Colorado.

Santander Invests in the Communities it Serves

Main South CDC will receive $30,000. Oak Hill CDC will receive $20,000, and Worcester Common Ground Inc. will receive $20,000.

DTE Energy Powers Summer Job Opportunities
DTE Energy and the DTE Energy Foundation, the philanthropic arm of DTE Energy, are providing opportunities for 1,000 young adults and teens to obtain the skills and knowledge to fill jobs in Michigan. While DTE Energy's student intern/co-op program runs throughout the year, hiring increases in the spring to fill summer jobs. The company typically employs an average of 400 students each summer to fill jobs in the gas and electric businesses as well as in engineering, information technology, human resources, supply chain and communications.
