Campaign: Getting to Impact

The Versaic Blog

Summer has officially arrived and our clients are busy making a difference. From banking clients, M&T, Citi, and Fifth Third to Highmark and Dr. Pepper Snapple...check out some of our client's philanthropic stories below. We have picked some of the highlights from their various giving programs to share with you- we hope their good work will inspire you in your quest for making an impact in your community!

M&T Invests in Music

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s (BPO) Crescendo Campaign, an ongoing fund-raising effort, is beginning a summer surge with a $500,000 pledge from M&T Bank. The Crescendo Campaign is the latest targeted effort by the orchestra’s leadership to have its endowment fund surpass the $50 million mark. Typically orchestras need endowments that are five times its annual operating budget. Since 1992, M&T Bank and its executives have contributed nearly $5 million to the BPO.

Fifth Third Has Measurable Impact

Fifth Third announced that it reached thousands of families and small business owners with education and services during Financial Literacy Month and Small Business Week. The Bank reached 15,780 individuals through workshops, seminars and training sessions, which were designed for low- and moderate-income census tracts, low- and moderate-income families and small business owners. More than 200 financial empowerment events were held across the Company footprint promoting the Bank’s L.I.F.E. (Lives Improved through Financial Empowerment®) programs.

Citi Never Sleeps on Community Involvement

Following the devastating events in Orlando, Citi announced it had donated $100,000 to the OneOrlando Fund from its Citi Foundation. The OneOrlando fund, established by the city of Orlando on June 14, will support not only the victims and their families, but also the LGBT community, the Hispanic community and other affected communities. Citi was also just voted in Fortune’s 20 Most Generous Companies of the Fortune 500.

Highmark Insures Healthy and Fun Summer

Highmark donated $100,000 for Harrisburg’s Summer Enrichment programs for city youth. Specifically, the donation will fund the employment of 60 instructors to run the program. Harrisburg kids ages 6-18 will have an opportunity to take advantage of playing basketball, golf, creating crafts, or taking a few field trips during the city’s annual Summer Enrichment Series. The program also includes lunches involved in many of the programs.

Dr. Pepper Snapple Supports Alumni

Dr. Pepper Snapple Group announced a national sponsorship of Boys & Girls Clubs of America's (BGCA) Alumni & Friends Club. Through its three-year, $1 million sponsorship, DPS is helping BGCA launch a new "Stay Connected" campaign to engage and support new Club alumni who have recently graduated from high school. Through the "Stay Connected" campaign, BGCA will aim to register graduating seniors as alumni, promote readiness for college and careers by providing online tools, tips, and resources, and connect them to a global network of passionate and dedicated alumni who can provide valuable guidance and mentorship.
