Voya Financial’s Gerald Lins Appointed to Board of Habitat for Humanity New York City

(NYSE: VOYA), announced today that Gerald Lins, Managing Director and General Counsel at Voya Investment Management, has joined the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity New York City, a nonprofit organization that transforms lives and communities by building and preserving affordable homes for local, hard-working, low-income families.

Founded in 1984, Habitat NYC has served more than 600 families in the five boroughs through home construction and preservation. Voya is a long-time corporate sponsor of Habitat NYC, and Lins has spearheaded various volunteer engagements during that time. He has organized and executed several team build events, mobilizing Voya employees to spend the day building and preserving affordable homes for deserving New Yorkers.

Lins has served as General Counsel for Voya Investment Management (IM) for over 17 years. In this role, he supervises and manages the Legal Department for Voya IM, covering all major asset classes and product types. He previously spent several years in private practice, concentrating on general corporate law matters and the regulation of investment companies, investment advisers, and other financial service providers. Lins has also served as a staff attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel and in the SEC's Division of Investment Management. He received a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
