HELSINKI, Finland, June 5, 2017 /3BL Media/ -- Today at the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF), the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) released its CEO Guide to the Circular Economy.

The Guide – developed in cooperation with Accenture and signed by 14 CEOs from companies including Unilever, Danone and Tata – aims to give CEOs and business leaders the tools they need to implement circular economy principles.

The circular economy is a $4.5 trillion opportunity. It’s a new way of looking at relationships between markets, customers and natural resources, and presents huge potential for global economic growth.

According to the Guide, “Strong and visionary CEO leadership is essential for implementing the circular economy and for reaching new levels of sustainable economic growth.” This Guide is designed to help CEOs take the first step.

The Guide outlines five business models and three disruptive technologies companies can explore and implement in order to seize the opportunities that the circular economy represents, and offers a six-step “Call to Action” for companies interested in getting started.
