“Many companies over-focus on the monetary aspects of the employment value proposition when trying to retain R&D staff. However, value propositions based largely on base compensation do little to improve incremental effort or ‘intent to stay’ amongst R&D employees. In order to motivate and retain staff, pay close attention to the career preferences of critical R&D segments such as Ph.D. degree holders, women in R&D, overseas employees, and high-potential staff.”  -CEB Views
