Last night kicked off the 35th annual Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) at Tower City Cinemas. The festival runs through April 3, with almost 150 feature films and 130 short subjects from 60 countries around the world. The organization put out this call to action as this year’s theme: ‘whether you’re a hero, a lover or a rebel – be part of the story’.

BrownFlynn is thrilled to be sponsoring the film “Jane’s Journey“, about the life and work of primatologist Jane Goodall. Not only is it an inspiring story, but it aligns perfectly with our values as a firm. Goodall gave up her career as a primatologist more than 20 years ago to devote herself to saving the planet, its people and its animals.

At 75 years old, she’s still traveling the globe 300 days a year giving lectures, writing books and promoting her youth organization Roots & Shoots, which serves over 120 countries around the world. This film is part of CIFF’s sidebar ‘It’s Easy Being Green’ – films that bring awareness and support to the environmentally friendly movement to save our planet, as well as Women of the World. It’s also part of the Greg Gund Memorial Standing Up Film Competition, that includes ‘films with a conscience’, and the FilmSlam for Students, giving high school students the opportunity to see new films by some of the world’s most innovative filmmakers.

“Jane’s Journey” is being shown at 6:35pm on March 30 and 4:20pm on March 31. Community partners include the Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. As a sponsor BrownFlynn is featured in the Lights! Camera! Action Steps! program, that provides audience members with resources on how to get involved after the film ends.

We hope to see you there!
