Drawing on the expertise of Harvard Business School faculty in nonprofit management and social enterprise, combined with the experiences of a diverse peer group, Governing for Nonprofit Excellence provides the perspective and skills board members need to guide a nonprofit organization from the boardroom.

In this program, you will explore the role of the board in enhancing organizational effectiveness, driving high performance, and enabling accountability. You will maximize your contributions to the organization by learning how to manage successful mission transitions, forge effective relationships, build trust between the board and the CEO, and create a culture of board engagement.

This program is specifically designed for nonprofit board chairs and other board members with significant board leadership roles who do not hold full-time positions with the nonprofit organization.
