(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Montréal, QC - February 27, 2012 - Bombardier Aerospace today announced that each of its eight wholly owned service centres in the U.S. has been awarded a 2011 Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Award Certificate of Excellence, the industry’s highest honour for aviation maintenance.

This award recognizes Bombardier’s commitment to offering customers access to the most highly skilled workforce through an extensive training program. The service centres in Hartford and Dallas have earned the Diamond Award of Excellence every year since their inceptions in 1991. The award, sponsored by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is presented annually to U.S.-based AMT employers that take a proactive role in training their technical workforce.

“At Bombardier, we place a high value on the training of our workforce. We take great pride in the achievement of our AMTs and in our role in encouraging their development. These awards are a reflection of the continuing investment we have been making in our people, ensuring they have the highest level of training, and that our customers benefit from the highest standards of safety and service,” said Stan Younger, Vice President, Aircraft Service Centres, Bombardier Aerospace.

Bombardier employs over 1,900 people at its eight service centres in the U.S. - which each received the AMT Diamond Award of Excellence based on the initial and recurrent training completed by their eligible employees in 2011.

In addition to the company’s eight wholly owned service centres in the U.S. and one at Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Bombardier’s business and commercial aircraft customers have access to a broad network of 56 Authorized Service Facilities and
Aircraft-On-Ground Line Maintenance Facilities in 27 countries.
