FedEx is pleased to announce its FY12 Global Citizenship Report, now available at csr.fedex.com. The report tracks the company’s efforts to connect the world in responsible and resourceful ways. Progress is tracked in four key areas:

Economics & Access
FedEx networks provide increased Access, giving people the means to connect with opportunity and innovation. In its hometown of Memphis, hub operations helped contribute $27.1B to the Memphis International Airport’s annual economic impact, driving a ripple effect in employment in the Memphis area that supported 208,319 local jobs.

Environment & Efficiency
Since its last report FedEx has reset two significant emissions goals, setting more aggressive targets for both its vehicle and aircraft fleets. Both segments are now working to reduce emissions 30% by 2020, compared to FY05 levels.

Community & Disaster Relief
As its networks expand, FedEx improves its ability to provide faster response when disasters strike. FedEx sets aside space for as much as 4 million lbs. of disaster-related charitable shipping, primarily supporting American Red Cross, Direct Relief, Heart to Heart International and The Salvation Army.

People & Workplace
FedEx believes the long tenure of its team members and excellent industry reputation are both strong indicators that its culture is an integral part of corporate success. In FY12, its full-time U.S. retention rate was 91.7%, compared to 90.1% in FY11.
