Campaign: Capacity Building
January 8, 2018 /3BL Media/ - The DFGE Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy has, since 1999, been providing consulting and auditing services to realize a Green Vision integrated into corporate business processes. WEC, the World Environment Center with its European subsidiary WEC Europe e.V., is an independent, global non-profit, non-advocacy organization that advances sustainable development through the business practices and operations of its member companies and in partnership with governments, multi-lateral organizations, non-governmental organizations, universities and other stakeholders. Both companies agreed to intensify their partnership in order to provide more business and social value by advanced solutions for sustainable development-related problems to DFGE’s and WEC’s clients, members and other stakeholders.   WEC’s mission is to advance leading edge ideas about economic development, environmental protection and social responsibility through roundtables and other forums that engage the leadership of a diverse number of organizations. Since 1974 WEC has been a major platform for its member companies and their suppliers to solve environmental problems, integrate sustainable development into business operations and assess business relevant strategies and processes across multiple industries on a global level. WEC works with companies to plan and achieve concrete, measurable results that are of value for both business and society.   The partnership with DFGE - Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy – adds more practical insights as well as proven tools to WEC’s value proposition. Being in the market since 1999 DFGE’s experts have managed projects with companies ranging from Fortune 500 to SME’s and covering the full supply chain in various sectors. With its roots in scientific research, being founded as a spin-off of the Technical University in Munich, DFGE has worked for decades with institutions to improve CSR and sustainability standards and communication on progress (CoP). DFGE’s goal is to help companies develop a sustainability intelligence and improve their sustainability management.   “WEC continuously strives to stay ahead of current sustainability standards and practical business solutions. DFGE’s practical and research expertise in combination with a lean and efficient structure adds value to our services and for our members,” states Terry F. Yosie, President and CEO of WEC.    “We are very excited to intensify our relationship with WEC. The partnership helps us to improve CSR information on a global level by learning and developing solutions with WEC and its members,” says Thomas Fleissner, founder and CEO of DFGE.   In 2017 WEC and DFGE already conducted two webinars on CSR trends. One covered business reactions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the other provided an insight view how companies work with Science Based Targets (SBT). In both webinars leading institutions such as UNEP and WRI accepted keynote speaking roles and global companies like BASF, Coca Cola HBC and Dow Chemical participated as panelists. The webinars were very well anticipated. Those projects will continue to support companies with practical insights and outlook on trending topics.  For March 2018 WEC and DFGE plan a webinar on "Climate-related Disclosures and Investment Decisions" – the event will soon be announced with further details by WEC and DFGE.
