Ann Inc., the parent company of Ann Taylor and LOFT, has raised $4 million during the holiday shopping season to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through its Ann Cares program. Customers who shopped at the company’s stores made add-on donations at checkout, and Ann Inc. donated $100,000 from the sale of limited edition products benefitting St. Jude. This year’s donation is an increase of more than 40 percent over last year’s contribution.

Fair Trade USA has published a new, redesigned certification label. The new label is designed to visually highlight the important benefits of Fair Trade, including assurances that the farmers and workers producing the labeled goods were paid fair prices and wages, and work in safe conditions. The label is currently found on more than 10,000 products throughout the U.S. Fair Trade USA also announced major revisions to its Multiple Ingredients Product Policy, which specifies percentages of Fair Trade Certified materials.
