The Conference Board of Canada Presents:
The Intergovernmental Forum on Risk Management 2010
When: September 15-16, 2010
Where: The Crowne Plaza Ottawa Hotel, Ottawa

Now in its 8th year, The Conference Board's Intergovernmental Forum on Risk Management is Canada's leading event for risk professionals in the Public Sector. This year’s conference agenda reflects delegate requests for more in-depth discussion of the experts’ insights, and the challenges identified in recent comments by Wayne Wouters, Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to Cabinet, Privy Council Office:

“To counter the risk aversion that has taken root in some ways, we need to discuss how to reinvigorate the public service work environment and build trust. This by extension will lead to a public service that is risk aware but not risk adverse. Our objective is not to get rid of all the rules, but to build good risk management practices, where you can allow people more flexibility. We want to develop good practices in risk taking and innovation, and see progress.”

We’ve responded to requests for more in-depth discussion with an even greater emphasis on case examples of successful risk management, and more time for speakers to share their thinking and in-depth risk perspectives. Join us to hear experts from Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation, The City of Calgary, The Treasury Board, Hydro Ottawa, the Canadian International Development Agency, and more. We’ve also secured experts in innovation, crisis management, and social media, so you’ll hear great new ideas and perspectives.
