(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) Dallas, TX - March 5, 2010 - Outstanding marketing programs that get people to sweat for a good cause were honored today at the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Conference.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure was the only winner of multiple Run Walk Ride Fundraising Pacesetter Awards.   It shared the best mission integration award with the National Philanthropic Trust for their success in building community among Breast Cancer 3-Day participants.   From recruitment meetings through final closing ceremonies, each participant received reminders of her relationship to breast cancer and its impacts on others.

Komen shared the prize for best sponsorship activation with the footwear and apparel company New Balance.   To mark 20 years of collaboration, New Balance created a special edition running shoe, produced a documentary video, fielded in-store programs and enhanced its presence at Race for the Cure and Breast Cancer 3-Day events.

Also honored by the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council (www.runwalkride.com) were:

Best Print Advertising:  “Move A Nation,” an ad recruiting participants for the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk created by The Alzheimer’s Association

Best Integrated Online Media:  The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer was honored for its combination of fundraising via Facebook, personalized online video and email.

Best T-Shirt Design:  The Tri-State Trek cycling jersey garnered this award for the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Best Online Video:  The Wildlife Conservation Society was honored for the creation of a humorous video that helped recruit participants for the Run for the Wild, an event that raised money to protect gorillas.
 
Best Recruitment Brochure:   An information-packed brochure and take-one display earned this award for The Ride to Conquer Cancer produced by CauseForce.
