When the terms ‘resources’ and ‘sustainability’ are used in the same sentence, the conversation has traditionally been focused on environmental impacts.  While environmental issues certainly present a considerable business sustainability risk and warrant every attention, the recovering economy may be placing another business asset at risk.
 
A recent Work Watch survey conducted by the second largest staffing organization in the world, Randstad, evaluated the current US job market and workers’ interest in learning new skills required for future on-the-job challenges and responsibilities.  The data suggests that U.S. workers feel less than challenged in their current roles, raising a serious business sustainability question: How will an improving job market affect employee turnover and retention?
