(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) PORTLAND  - October 20, 2010 - Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) will recognize three companies and one individual tonight for their role in building and shaping the market for renewable energy over the past year. The award recipients will be honored during the 2010 Green Power Leadership Awards event in conjunction with the Renewable Energy Markets 2010 conference taking place in Portland, OR, this week. The CRS Market Development award category recognizes organizations and individual renewable energy leaders.

CRS recognizes market leadership through four awards: the Best Green Power Education Outreach Program award recognizes effective and unique outreach programs focusing on education related to green power; Best Promotional Campaign by a Green Power Purchaser for promoting the use of green power in an innovative or compelling way; Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier for the novelty, originality, and success in a campaign to gain new customers; and the Green Power Pioneer Award for cutting-edge outreach efforts, continuous achievement and dedication by an individual for helping to create the green power industry.

2010 CRS Market Development Awards
A six-person selection committee reviewed dozens of nominations. This year's Green Power Market Development Award Winners are:

Best Green Power Education Outreach Program: Arizona Public Service, for The Renewables 
Best Promotional Campaign by a Green Power Purchaser: Sundance Square 
Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier: Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power 
Green Power Pioneer Award: Thor Hinckley, Portland General Electric

"These organizations and individuals have proven their leadership in advancing clean energy and have set an example that we hope many others will follow," said Arthur O'Donnell, executive director of Center for Resource Solutions. "Their enormous dedication and creativity set them apart this year in a crowded field, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to honor them tonight."

CRS co-sponsors the Green Power Leadership Awards in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Green Power Leadership Awards recognize outstanding commitments and achievements in the green power marketplace in the following three categories: Purchasers, Suppliers, and Market Development.
