CAMPAIGN: The CSR Minute

CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Tuesday, February 16th:

Justin Timberlake ranks number one among celebrities allied with a non-profit in their impact on charitable giving, according to an analysis by the Daily Beast, an online news source. Timberlake is credited with raising over $9 million dollars for the Shriners Hospital for Children. Second place goes to Madonna, whose Raising Malawi foundation scored over $5 million dollars through her efforts. Madonna also matches every dollar donated to the organization out of her own funds. Third on the list is Pamela Anderson, credited with raising almost $5 million dollars for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The Daily Beast “Celebrity Impact Rankings” scores 50 top celebrities.

The Scholastic Corporation, the children’s publishing, education, and media company, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Clifford, the Big Red Dog, on PBS Kids, as well as the second year of the Be Big! Campaign. Be Big! is a multi-year, integrated cause marketing effort that invites Clifford’s fans to take action and raise awareness through Clifford’s Be Big! annual contest. Scholastic’s Be Big! Partners are the HandsOn Network, the volunteer management organization, and American Family Insurance as corporate sponsor.
