AT&T and E3 Greentech are helping homeowners optimize their energy use by providing wireless access to a central unit, the E3 Intelligent Bridge. E3 Greentech’s Home Energy Management System combines a cloud-based services platform with in-home hardware to automatically reduce energy waste. The system allows property owners to monitor and manage energy consumption, and promises to deliver savings of 15 percent or greater.

The Global Reporting Initiative has released new guidelines that are described as the most comprehensive sustainability reporting guidance now available. The “G3.1 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines” cover many issues including local community impacts, human rights, and other GRI categories. The GRI “Technical Protocol: Apply the Report Content Principles” helps companies figure out what to measure and report on. Together, the new Protocol and Guidelines allow for greater transparency in business practices.
