Allison & Partners has published the 2011 Corporate Social Impact Marketing Snapshot. The report examines the biggest roadblock to a successful cause marketing campaign: a poor connection between a cause and a company’s core business, brand, or target audience. The Snapshot study also identifies factors that contribute to a campaign’s success. Executives of 35 top national brands including Best Western, ConAgra foods, Walgreens, and the Walt Disney Company contributed to the study.

GlaxoSmithKline will contribute its expertise to the World Anti-Doping Agency to help that organization create detection methods for performance-enhancing substances used in sports. In a partnership agreement, GSK will supply WADA with confidential information about medicines in early stage development that could be abused by athletes once they are licensed for patient use. GSK is the Official Laboratory Services provider for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
