CAMPAIGN: The CSR Minute

CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, January 22nd:

The Cause Marketing Forum predicts a healthy growth rate for cause marketing in 2010. Quoting an IEG Sponsorship Report, the Forum notes that corporate cause sponsorship is expected to expand by 6.1 percent this year. Among the new year’s first campaigns are Pepsi’s Refresh Project to give away over $20 million dollars to communities; the Great Gallon Give of three million servings of milk through food banks by Feeding America and the Milk Processor Education Program; and the Clean Makeup Clean Water campaign, Proctor & Gamble’s CoverGirl brand’s donation of $500,000 dollars to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water organization.

The Business Accelerator for Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina’s Kenen-Flagler Business School has begun its second year of assisting early-stage sustainable businesses. 15 businesses will be connected to a range of sustainability resources, from expertise to capital, to support their growth and impact. Among the businesses are Dulces Bakery, a social enterprise bakery of Latino inspired goods; EcoMaintenance, a distributor of green cleaning supplies; and Green Energy Lawn Care, a company using emission-free mowers recharged by solar panels mounted on fuel-efficient trucks.
