Hello, I’m Gretchen Siegchrist and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, April 21st:

Corporate Register.Com, the largest online directory of CSR reports, announced the CR Reporting Awards for 2010 yesterday in London. Among the nine winners were Vodafone Group, for the Best Report; the Walt Disney Company for Best First Time Report; Recycle Bank for Best Small-Medium Enterprise report; Hewlett Packard for Best Carbon Disclosure; and Coca-Cola Enterprises for Creativity in Communications. The CRAA awards are the only annual, online, CSR reporting awards. Now in its third year, this year’s international competition included 130 reports, and received over 8,000 votes, 40% more than last year.

The Sustainable Food Lab, a group of 70 businesses, NGOs, and academic institutions, and the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform, a food industry initiative, have joined to launch a global climate project to help farmers grow greener. The project will evaluate the greenhouse gas footprint of specific farming systems using the newly created “Cool Farm Tool calculator. The goal is connect food corporations with the agricultural starting point of their supply chain, and to help reduce those gasses by offering practical alternatives to current practices. Unilever, PepsiCo, Heinz, Sysco, Pulse Canada, Oxfam, and the Canada Canola Growers Association are among the organizations that are supporting the effort.
