Dell and the University of Texas have announced a competition for university students to solve a social or environmental problem. $100,000 dollars in prizes will be given to five winning teams who will then be brought to Austin, Texas for a Finalist Weekend that ends with a grand award winner  ceremony. The Dell Social Innovation Competition is open to university students worldwide.

A poll by the Global Reporting Initiative reports that the majority of those reading sustainability reports, 97 percent, say that reporting itself indicates that a company is improving its performance on sustainability measures. 60 percent of report readers also said that reading a sustainability report positively influences their commitment to an organization. The survey of 5,000 readers and writers of sustainability reports was conducted by Futerra Sustainability Communications, SustainAbility Limited, and KPMG. GRI is a sponsor of this broadcast.
