KB Home and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia have teamed up to design a net zero energy home. Unveiled this week at the National Association of Home Builders International Show, the joint design features a traditional exterior and an open interior floor plan while achieving the net-zero standard, meaning that it produces more energy than it consumes over a one-year period.  The home incorporates new technologies such as a real-time energy monitoring system and a solar thermal water heater. KB Home has been ranked Number One on a list of publicly traded home builders making progress on sustainability.

AccountAbility, a global advisory firm, has posted the final draft of its revised AA 1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard at a wiki site for final editorial comments. Any interested party may register and comment on or edit the Standard. The AA1000SES, originally published in 2005, is the first international standard for stakeholder engagement. AccountAbility is a global firm providing research, standards, and services related to corporate responsibility and sustainable development to corporations, nonprofits, and governments.
